Canon fodder

It can’t be easy for the Great Books Foundation to live up to its name. But the nonprofit’s new Short Story Omnibus is a valiant effort, featuring an inspired diversity of authors (Ursula Le Guin and Rohinton Mistry) and form (A Melville novella and a Joe Sacco comic are included). Though most of the foundation’s books go to schools, a release party at the Book Cellar Thursday 23 gives the public a chance to pick up a copy for $32.95.
