A cut(out) above the rest

Jamie Buell’s not one to slouch at a challenge. The winner of the first Impress These Apes talent competition takes on classism and social reform in his one-man sketch show Dignity Waits (opening Monday 27). In Buell’s embrace-everything style, expect thoughtful monologues, silly dances, fart noises and a scene with Hajiji—a cardboard figure of an African orphan (pictured) who’s convinced he’s being adopted by an American journalist.—Steve Heisler
