Radical Disciple: The Story of Father Pfleger

Father Michael Pfleger has been a regular on the Chicago news scene for years with his in-your-face approach to social and economic problems in his largely African-American parish on the South Side. His brand of activism has had him in trouble with the Catholic hierarchy. The fear, perhaps valid, is that he has created a cult of personality around himself rather than Catholic teachings. This doc follows Pfleger through a heated round of battles when the cardinal tried to silence him. Though Hercules lets Pfleger’s critics speak, there’s never much doubt which side we’re meant to be on.
