Guitar Hero: World Tour
At the end of 2007, Electronic Arts’ Rock Band changed how people thought of rhythm games by offering multiple players the chance to live out their rock-star dreams via microphone, guitar and drum controllers. Now, the Guitar Hero franchise answers the challenge by unveiling its own multi-instrument bundle. The full setup comes with a microphone to help you injure your vocal cords, a drum kit that—unlike RB—responds to how hard you hit the pads, and a new guitar that allows for speedier and more nimble solos. World Tour’s track list holds more than 85 songs, including classics like Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” and the Eagles’ “Hotel California.” This time around, you can also rock the mike as a musical legend, such as Ozzy Osbourne or Sting. However, World Tour’s most game-changing feature might be the Music Studio mode, which allows users to record and edit original songs that can be shared online with other aspiring rockers. Recording contracts, here we come.
