House Bunny
Faris plays dizzy dolls as expertly as Lucille Ball; if Faris’s movies fail that total commitment, she can hardly be blamed. So it goes with this comedy from the minds behind Legally Blonde, which thrusts a similar nincompoop—a wanna-be-centerfold evicted from Hef’s mansion—into an atmosphere of snobbery, only to have her turn the tables and learn something, too. The movie is uncertain whether to celebrate Shelley’s surfacey makeovers or indict them. But so long as Faris can offer wisdom like “The eyes are the nipples of the face,” you’ll be magnificently distracted. The DVD adds profile pieces on the cast and deleted scenes.
