DREAM CATCHER Admit it: You’ve zonked out on the train after a long day, or even dozed the morning away en route to work. So, here’s a fair warning to all you pooped pencil-pushers: While you’re catching Zs, Yvonne Doll might be catching you in the act and posting your drooling photo online for all to see. Doll, a member of rock outfit the Locals, became fascinated with CTA sleepers two years ago, when, testing a new camera phone, she accidentally snapped a photo of a slumbering commuter. Suddenly capturing these somnolent moments became an obsessive hobby. “Usually the only people who see us sleeping are those we’re really close to,” Doll says of the voyeuristic photos. “It’s probably the only time you see the pureness of a person, totally unfettered.” Jumping from car to car armed only with her Motorola flip-phone, Doll is stealthy. Once she locates a 9-to-5er napping, she flings open her phone and pretends to wait for a call as she shoots the pic. Later she uploads the photos to sleepyurbanite.com. Getting the shot is always risky, but this sleuth has never been caught.
