Even though mogul Oprah Winfrey plans to keep her namesake Harpo Productions based in Chicago once she packs up and heads to L.A. to launch her new cable network, she really isn't giving the company much reason to stay put.

Ever since it was announced in December that Winfrey was blessing longtime design favorite Nate Berkus with his own show, rumors have swirled (and the city was hopingfor that mattergiven the fact that businesses will take a considerable hit once she bids adieu) that the show would be based out of Chicago. The idea was only natural, especially since Berkus and his design firm are Chicago-based.

But Sony Pictures Television and Winfrey's production studio put the kibosh on that idea Monday, announcing that Berkus' new show will be based out of New York once it hits the air next fall..

In announcing an all-star cast of behind-the-scenes charactersincluding Zev Shalev, who launched Entertainment Tonight Canada and Terry Weible Murphy, who helped make Sally Jessy Raphael a TV name (here you thought it was her red glasses)the studios confirmed the potential for a new daytime talk show to be produced in Chicago was a no-go.

Berkus's show joins a lineup of other Winfrey-endorsed programs based out of New York, including Rachael Ray Show, Dr. Oz and Dr. Phil.
