Nominations were announced this morning for the 2011 Equity Jeff Awards, with the Goodman Theatre and TimeLine Theatre Company leading the way with 17 nominations each. Mary Zimmerman's production of Candide at the Goodman has the most nominations of any single production with eight.

A number of individuals received multiple nominations, topped by Andrew Hansen with a remarkable six nominations: two for original music for In Darfur and To Master the Art, both at TimeLine, and four for sound design, for the same TimeLine shows as well as Heartbreak House at Writers' Theatre and The Outgoing Tide at Northlight. Also notably, Fight/Movement Direction and Projections/Video Design are for the first time broken out of the Artistic Specialization umbrella into their own categories.

Where is to Steppenwolf's production of To Kill a Mockingbird? It's shocking that it did not get a single nomination.

Because the show was a Steppenwolf for Young Adults production, it's considered Theater for Young Audiences (children's theater) and therefore ineligible for the Jeffs. When's the They Wuz Robbed post coming out, Kris?
