Disco Unusual Social Club
Lono Brazil picks his top five Disco Unusual Social Club cuts.
1. “New York Story,” Lee Douglas (Rong Music) “Already a DUSC classic, I played this with the Obama speech over it after the election and it caused mayhem at Danny’s.”
2. “I Can’t Dance Without You,” Theo Vaness (Prelude Records) “One of my all-time favorite records. Nicky Siano is responsible for bringing Theo to the fore. I first heard it when Frankie Knuckles played it.”
3. “You Should Be Dancin’ ” (Todd Terje re-edit), Bee Gees (Ballroom Records) “Excellent re-edit sets the dance floor on fire each and every time.”
4. “For Your Love” (Sweet Dick Willy’s re-edit), Chilly (White Label) “Deep disco at its absolute best. Another heat rock/sure shot.”
5. “No Regard For The Law,” Lono Brazil vs Love Committee “First single on the newly formed DUSC EDITS label. 126bpm disco groove in the Philly soul vein.”
