Boris may not be a household name. But the Japanese noise/experimental/metal/prog band hasn't lacked for a work ethic. It can't get arrested in Tokyo, but has blossomed over the last decade into an underground favorite in America. This year, Boris fans had cause to rejoice and lots of listening to do as the band released three full-length albums. I've only made it through two of those to be honest—but between their stylistic variation and technically assured execution, Heavy Rocks and Attention Please have quite a lot to offer the rock fan, nevermind the noisehead. This week, Boris headlined at the Metro and TOC was in the pit.
