Tallulah

IT’S A DUAL It sounds like an oxymoron, but Matt Fisher insists his new restaurant, Tallulah, delivers “casual fine dining.” He wants to make Lincoln Avenue “more of a destination for fine dining,” he says, but at the same time cater to people in the neighborhood looking for dinner on, say, a Wednesday night. So Fisher hired chef Troy Graves, fresh from the recently shuttered Meritage, to cover the “fine dining” part, and decked out his space in lots of comfortable leather seating and an all-weather patio for the “casual” part. The food echoes the concept: Fancy-casual dishes like deviled eggs stuffed with Maine lobster, or the simple filet of salmon served with luxurious black truffle gnocchi, are built around the idea that you can get the best of both worlds on only one plate. 4539 N Lincoln Ave between Sunnyside and Wilson Aves (773-942-7585).
