TESTING THE WATERS New York chef Marcus Samuelsson has earned countless raves for his Swedish food at Aquavit, his Japanese food at Riingo and, most recently, his African fare at Merkato 55. But for his first foray into Chicago, Samuelsson is tackling something he’s never done before: American food. At C-House, in the Affinia Hotel, he’ll put his twist on the American seafood restaurant with entrées like baby sweet shrimp ravioli, ginger-scented crispy lobster tail and grilled langoustine in a coconut-saffron broth. That is, he will when C-House opens for lunch and dinner in June. In the meantime, breakfast dishes like salmon pastrami bagel and lobster Benedict provide a taste of what’s to come. 166 E Superior St at St Clair St (312-523-0923).
