Our five picks for the week

1

Junior’s Sports Lounge (724 W Maxwell St, 312-421-2277)
Game night’s not just for the old folks’ home anymore. Kick back in the University Village hangout with $6 Bud Light pitchers on Tuesdays, when the bar brings out the board games, bags, trivia and Wii.

2

Harry Caray’s Tavern (3551 N Sheffield Ave, 773-327-7800)
Win something more than a pat on the back at the Wii tourneys Tuesday nights at this Wrigleyville outpost: With prizes like NASCAR and Cubs tix, there’s no messing around. Try your luck against former Chicago Bull Dickey Simpkins on Tue 26.

3

Cortland’s Garage (1645 W Cortland St, 773-862-7877)
Who loves Wii more than tipsy barhoppers? We’ll venture a guess: no one. Bowl without the uncomfortable shoes, or waste the night playing Carnival Games—just stick to the less-jammed weekdays.

4

Martin’s Corner Bar & Grill (2058 W 22nd Pl, 773-847-5515)
With wacky August weather, it’s often either too muggy or too rainy to play actual baseball, so grab a cold one and take on a friend—or for that matter, a stranger—in Backyard Baseball Wednesday through Saturday at this Pilsen pub.

5

Mahoney’s Pub & Grille (551 N Ogden Ave, 312-733-2121)
There may not be all-out Wii wars here, but go ahead and ask the bartender for a round: Tennis, baseball and bowling are all on tap any night of the week for those who’re up for the challenge.
