Find a restaurant

Silent partners

Some of the most essential players in the restaurant scene are far from household names, but they hold the keys to the biggest successes in town.

Unsung hero: Anthony Norkus, Louis Glunz Beer Inc.
Superpowers: Gets micro, import and specialty beers from point A (the loading dock) to point B (the best beer lists in town). After two years serving as resident beer specialist at Sam’s, Norkus went to work for Glunz, a local beer distributor with a massive portfolio of European beers. Now he works with chefs, sommeliers, managers and bartenders on their beer lists, then often oversees training to make sure the staff knows how to sell the beers. And after determining that an up-and-coming brewery should be added to his portfolio, he also works to make sure it can support the market before putting it onto popular lists, so that your order isn’t met with a “sorry, we’re out.”
Clients: The Publican, the Bristol, Map Room, Hopleaf, Matchbox
