UPDATED: Cedar Hotel (finally) opening Friday

Walking through the Viagra Triangle the other day, the patio outside The Cedar Hotel (the former Melvin B's and Cactus spaces) was looking pretty damn bleak—trash all over the place, no patio furniture in sight. The bar was slated to open in mid-June but faced considerable red-tape from Gold Coast neighbors, which postponed the opening. But word came through this morning—and was confirmed by owner Mike Bisbee—that The Cedar, which is a joint venture among Manor/RiNo nightlife stalwarts Mike Bisbee and Michael Kaulentis and the Fifty/50 guys Greg Mohr and Scott Weiner, will open this Friday serving bottled beer and Southern-inflected bar fare.
