Drink this tonight: Prescription Julep at the Drawing Room
I happen to love gin—a lot, actually—but I understand that the spirit has its resisters. And for those people there's RIGHT gin, "a gin for people who don't like gin." It's more citrus-y, less juniper-y and, presumably, pretty cocktail-friendly. Which explains why on Tuesday night, ten of the city's mixologists—including Violet Hour's Ira Koplowitz and Steven Cole and Sepia's Josh Pearson—went head-to-head to knock out the best RIGHT Gin cocktail. The Drawing Room's Charles Joly (whom we recently put in the Hot Seat) took home the prize for his Prescription Julep, which pairs the gin with absinthe and Moscati D'Asti. The drink isn't yet on the menu at the Drawing Room, but stop in and Joly will make it for you this weekend ($12). Or be your own mixologist and follow the recipe, after the jump.
