Province made a big announcement this morning: The restaurant has plans to open a second location at a Westin Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona.

"The folks from Starwood have been talking to us since not long after we opened Province [in Chicago]," chef-owner Randy Zweiban told me. Of all the places Starwood could have taken Zweiban, Arizona makes sense—the restaurant will be about 45 minutes from Zweiban's parents.

Province Arizona will be similar to Province Chicago—American food, Latin touches, local ingredients (from, obviously, Arizona farms). The one big difference: In AZ, Zweiban will be serving breakfast.  "I'm kind of exited by [breakfast]," Zweiban said. "Brunch is my favorite meal to go out for."

(He didn't have any breakfast dishes in mind yet, but my vote is for the pork-belly-French-toast he recently had on his lunch menu.)

But while Province's new location is good news for Zweiban, and good news for folks in Phoenix, what does it mean for Chicagoans? Not a whole lot. Luckily, Province's news doesn't end there. It's the latest restaurant to pair with Time Out Chicago for a Dining & Libation Society event. The event, titled Flavors of Fall, starts with a cocktail reception and passed apps (like crispy chorizo-stuffed olives) and continues with a four-course dinner paired with rum cocktails. And it's only $65. Chicagoans—and Arizonians wanting to get a taste of what they're in for—can check out the full menu (and buy tickets) here.
