Porkchop

Porkchop—the newest from onetime nightlife operator Dion Antic—claims it “couldn’t care less about overpriced drinks and ill-fitting food trends." And yet the menu is heavily weighted toward whiskey and pork, two ingredients so trendy it’s possible Antic doesn’t even realize the irony of his mission statement. Whatever the case may be, the food here—shrimp cocktail with spicy sauce, fried-green-tomato BLT—is straightforward comfort, even if the namesake chop was tough. The room is decorated somewhat off-puttingly with saws, but it's nothing plenty of whiskey (served only neat, with an ice bucket) can't turn into a total nightmare.
