No, it’s not better than Scooter’s. The new Edgewater shop turns out concretes that are far too melty and soupy to compete with that Lakeview favorite, but viscosity issues don’t seem to faze the throngs of Far North Siders packing the place every night. They’re impressed with the custard’s creaminess, and the way it's whipped into sundaes and concretes like the aptly named OMG (chocolate or vanilla custard dotted with peanut-butter fudge brownie pieces and a shot of hot fudge). Cupcakes from Phoebe's and cookies from Celestial Kitchens round out the sweet offerings, with a roster of old-school candies coming soon.
