True, this long-standing Thai spot is an Anglo favorite that isn’t going to whip out ant-egg omelettes and fermented pork sausages to impress the authenticity police. But we like the fact that we can visit for an inexpensive dinner with friends who aren’t such adventurous eaters, bring a bottle of wine and settle into the low-lit room for consistent, tasty, somewhat pan-Asian eats. Green-curry tofu is rich and fragrant, studded with green “globe” eggplants and basil leaves. Tom kha soup packs plenty of lime punch, as well as a garden of vegetables. And modernized creations deliver flair, especially the sesame-crusted tuna with ginger sauce. Crab rangoon, miso soup and tempura veggies will please the kids (or adults who grew up in strip-mall towns).
