Amelia’s Bar and Grill

Amelia’s aims to do for the Back of the Yards what Mundial–Cocina Mestiza did for Pilsen, and this restaurant is certainly worth a trek. Former Mundial chef Eusevio Garcia changes his menu often but leans toward creative and contemporary dishes dotted with Mexican touches (and he makes one hell of a chile relleno). Look for fleeting flavors like corn and artichoke fritters with squash blossoms and a raw salsa of tomatillos and avocados, and order enough wine to stand up to grilled pork tenderloins or rib eyes with seasonal sides.
