It's easy to see how the sweets here became a New York—and now international—addiction: It'd be healthier to mainline sugar than to eat one of these cupcakes. The dense cake and achingly sweet frosting evoke nostalgia for kiddie birthday parties, but the cutesy lace curtains and not-too-sweet icebox cake (chocolate cookies layered with whipped cream, available whole and by the slice) are timeless.
