The Cupcake Gallery

Darius Williams’s cupcakes don’t taste even half as bad as they sometimes appear, and that’s a blessing, because the ones topped with grayish Hershey’s kisses and splattered with Hershey’s Syrup gave us serious pause. (Frankly, so did the disheveled look of the store.) In general, though, these cakes are moist and tender (though sometimes spongy), and whether traditional (red velvet) or dubious (orange Creamsicle), the flavors deliver exactly the taste they promise.
