Benny's Chop House

Benny’s is a steakhouse, not in the suave, reinvented David Burke’s Primehouse fashion, nor in an old-school Gene & Georgetti mold: Its uninspired environs merely provide an inoffensive setting for the consumption of salted, beefy protein. But what proteins! The filet slices like butter; lamb chops are pleasantly “lamby.” Not everything is so impressive (salads can be overdressed, fish can be oversauced), and the prices can be shocking to those without expense accounts. But those mishaps are nothing the stellar wine list and tremendous cocktail program won’t help you forget.
