This Tony Hu restaurant loosely translates to “Old Friends Getting Together.” But Hu is uniting more than just friends in this luxurious restaurant and lounge. Cuisines from the regions he specializes in at his other restaurants—Lao Beijing, Lao Shanghai and Lao Sze Chuan—all make an appearance on the “Chinese Tapas” (read: small plates) menu. Hits include takes on the egg: A trio of warm, soft, savory custards and a preserved egg tossed with chili oil and pickled greens are standouts. The fruity but potent cocktails help massage the misses.
