Prince Creperie Cafe

You'd think a French crêperie would stand out like a sore thumb in Albany Park's main drag, but this tiny storefront is all but hidden, quietly waiting for potential customers to glance its way as they walk to the Brown Line. Once found, it's a welcome addition to the neighborhood, a simple and homey place for sweet and savory crêpes made with finesse by Egyptian-born Ezat Nada, who learned the trade in Paris before arriving here. Things don't exactly happen speedily in this shop, but be patient with service and you'll be rewarded with crispy-edged whole-wheat crêpes, lightly perfumed with vanilla and lemon and best when folded over jams, fruits, fresh vegetables and cheeses. If you must go meat, avoid purchased roasted turkey in favor of the merguez sausage, the faint spice a nice match for a cup of milky chai.
