At this West Town shop, ladies’ and men’s attire, accessories and housewares date back as far as the 1930s and bring us up to the ’80s. For the fellows, expect ample neckties and Western wear—brass belt buckles from the ’60s and ’70s along with plaid and floral embroidered button-ups—plus a limited but finely kept and curated rack of sports coats ($38), corduroy vests ($38), leather bombers ($48) and pullovers ($46). Women will find at least double the pleasure with casual and cocktail dresses (from a quintessential ’70s polyester polka-dot number to a taffeta silk Eisenberg from the ’30s), ruffled blouses, wide leather belts and Great Gatsby–ready purses in white Lucite ($195) and silver sequins ($44). Find a few designer items sprinkled among the selection, such as square-toe Prada pumps ($72) and a Burberry Irish tweed winter coat ($250). If you have a hard time imagining the separates as an outfit, simply look to the keenly dressed mannequins for inspiration. For the home, there are old-school RCA radios ($100), Deco coffeepots ($30) and enamel-accented barware ($50–$65).
Come here for: The stunning costume jewelry. They’ll wow the boldest dressers while subtler pieces such as gold chain necklaces and Siam sterling pendants make for cunning everyday accents. Add a chunky pair of brass and wood earrings from the ’60s ($56) to a basic tee and jeans and you’ve got yourself a stylin’ outfit.
