Hello Kitty makeup collection

IT’S NEW, PUSSYCAT One visit to the Michigan Avenue Sanrio store proves that Hello Kitty rules when it comes to girly products. Pink pencils? Check. Purses? Yep. Charm bracelets? Of course. Now she’s appearing on accessories for the grown-up crowd, as well. The just-launched Hello Kitty makeup collection by MAC Cosmetics features a cheery color palette of purples, pinks and turquoise available in lipsticks ($14), eye shadows ($38), blush ($18) and more. For die-hard Kitty collectors, the MAC Hello Kitty tote ($45), makeup bag ($35) and vanity case ($55) are mature versions of the Sanrio items mentioned above. To celebrate the collab, Bloomingdale’s hosted an event in its MAC department last week, and Macy’s gets in on the action with a promotion at the MAC counter at its Water Tower outpost (835 N Michigan Ave, 312-335-7700) Thursday 19 through Saturday 21. The collection is also available at MAC Pro (910 W Armitage Ave, 773-327-4902).
