THRIFTY TIPS l Store clerks at trendier second-hand shops such as Buffalo Exchange and Crossroads Trading Co. always buy according to what’s hot each season, so those shops have a good selection of trends at affordable prices. l Check out these websites for affordable trends: shopnastygal.com offers vintage looks from the 1980s and ’90s; marketpublique.com is like an eBay for trendy women’s clothing; and modcloth.com has tons of dresses for under $50. Runwayrundown.com is an L.A.-based blog that features runway looks at affordable prices. Giltgroupe.com features new sales on deeply discounted men’s and women’s designer clothing each day (it’s members-only, but you can join on the website). —Kevin Aeh and Jessica Herman
