KAREN CHOI, 31, WICKER PARK
Choi became a self-described “product junkie” in college, when she started using Stila, “which led me to MAC, which led me to the world of makeup,” she says. Not only was it a gateway to an expensive habit, it also was inspiration for her career path. After spending a few years working at department-store makeup counters, followed by a stint as an aesthetician at Benefit, Choi now spends her days as an aesthetician at Trim and as a freelance makeup artist. But not even a makeup-aholic like Choi has everything. Her wish list serves as a not-so-subtle hint to her friends and family.
My favorite budget stocking stuffer is…MAC’s false lashes, starting at $14 at Macy’s. “Use them with the Duo adhesive glue. They’re great for New Year’s or Christmas parties.”
If you have to get a gift certificate, get it from…Sephora or MAC. “[Sephora] has everything, and [MAC’s] brushes are the best for the price.”
Please don’t get me any more…lip gloss. “I’m more into lip stains and lipsticks these days.”
