That is, not until you’ve tried You Bars, a customizable brand of bars made in Los Angeles and shipped around the world. After churning out batches of homemade bars to accommodate their own dietary restrictions and taking dozens of requests from friends and family, mother and son Ava and Anthony Flynn realized they had a market for their makings. Choose your ingredients—anything from cashew butter and goji berries to agave nectar and whey protein—and the site spits out nutrition facts that get stamped on the back of the package. Pick a name for your bar, place an order (13 bars per box for $39–$42) and count on delivery in two to five days. And there’s more where that came from. In addition to bars, the company customizes protein shakes and trail mixes; cereal and a few other items are in the works.
