Cycle for Survival at Equinox
You feel a natural high after an intense workout, so just imagine the kind of endorphin rush you’ll get knowing you’re working out for a good cause. In 2007, Jennifer Goodman Linn, a patient with a rare form of cancer, held a small cycling fund-raising event at an Equinox in New York. That small event ended up raising $10,000 for the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. The event grows each year and has expanded into more cities: Equinox’s Loop location is home to the Windy City fund-raiser. Teams register to ride for a four-hour shift, with a maximum of eight riders taking turns on a bike. In addition to cycling, there’s gratis yoga, massage therapy and activities for children. The cycle-athon gets more popular each year, so if you’re interested in participating, get a team together ASAP. Otherwise, everyone is welcome to watch and cheer on the riders throughout the day. Register at cycleforsurvival.org. Equinox Loop, 200 W Monroe St. Sat 11, 8am–noon, 1–5pm.
