Olympic medalist Deena Kastor, 36, Mammoth Lakes, California
“I enjoy opening a bottle of wine after the race as a way to celebrate…. We’ve been known to take over BIN 36 (339 N Dearborn St, 312-755-9463) postmarathon. The table is filled with bottles of wine and a fun selection of cheeses. After a morning of sweating and drinking supersweet sports drinks, I crave salty foods.”

Marc Geelhoed, 31, Logan Square
“I drink a beer or two, take an ice-bath (sexy), try to avoid stairs as much as possible and then nap. This year, I might go to the Publican (837 W Fulton Market, 312-733-9555). It’s pricey, but hell, I’ll have earned it.”

Kate Bongiovanni, 29, Old Town
“I’m pretty religious about stopping at Weber Grill (539 N State St, 312-467-9696) on my way home to get an order of onion curls and a slice of apple pie—all just for me. It’s a big joke in my family.”

Nate Cook, 32, Hyde Park
“My wife and I go out for dinner to celebrate. I really crave protein after the marathon, so Korean barbecue at Jin Ju (5203 N Clark St, 773-334-6377) hits the spot. I always get the kalbi.”

Meg Robinson, 30, Lincoln Park
“Last year I watched the race in Lakeview with a Coke, a cigarette and 50 doughnut holes in hand. I’ll probably do it again!”

Andy Katzman, 33, Ukrainian Village
“We always watch from Chinatown. I feel it’s one of the best viewing locations in the city, plus it’s a great place to cheer on the runners. After we’ve seen all of our friends pass, it’s off to Three Happiness (2130 S Wentworth Ave, 312-791-1228) for dim sum!”
