Use our tips – and some children's book nostalgia - to navigate the urban landscape

By Scott Smith

Your alarm clock goes off three milliseconds before your hand slams into it. Pulling yourself out of bed, you remember that your boss has called an important all-staff meeting this morning, which should be about as much fun as the time jammed your ring finger playing softball.

Still a bit fuzzy from the night before – if memory serves you were celebrating the fact that it was Wednesday – your soul cries out for coffee, but you’re all out. After managing to dress yourself, you get in your car get the engine to turn over on the 12th try. Off to Intelligentsia.

As you’re getting ready to park, it occurs to you that expecting your car to start twice in one morning is pushing it. Still, you’ve got plenty of time to get to work so maybe it’s best not to chance it. You decide to:

Park it, and say a few prayers to Mr. Goodwrench.

Keep your engine running, and tell the barista to make it snappy.
