Don’t let cavalier rocker (and club owner) Pete Wentz sour your opinion of River North night spot Angels & Kings—the crowd and the vibe are refreshingly easygoing. But there’s something devilishly exciting about really going for it on a school night, and Thursday’s BEGIN crowd needed no reminder of that. Hipsters and yupsters alike rubbed elbows and tapped glasses (over and over) as local duo The Electric Getdown spun indie, dance and throwback hip-hop from the DJ perch above the dance floor. This was a hard drinking, hard dancing crew who let it all hang out, and you couldn’t help but enjoy being part of the deviance—at least until the alarm went off on Friday morning.
