Banksy in Chicago. CRO, too.

A Banksy? Or a CRO?

Chicagoist and Arrested Motion are reporting Banksy-style graphics popping up in our fine city. Maxwell Collette gallery has Flickr shots of the piece featuring a baby carriage (an Untouchables reference if you are in Chicago, a Battleship Potemkin reference if you are in the Ukraine). Banksy's own website has a photo of it if you scroll right, but I'd be wary of assigning such authorship to some of the other Banksy-esque pieces you see around town. Some of CRO's work can be almost indistinguishable from Banksy if you aren't paying close attention. SAIC grad CRO was responsible for the Go Tell Mama! art that you may have seen around Chicago during the election and the very Banksy-like Run, Blago, Run series. Dig this interview with CRO/Ray Noland at Nationalheadquarters.org. Noland lives in Asheville, NC now, but has a show opening in Chicago soon.

So please, feel free to send us your Banksy in Chicago shots (webmaster@timeoutchicago.com), just be aware that you may be looking at a CRO.
