Edition No. 2
Wurst Edition No. 2

You may or may not have noticed the pink oxford shirt Gabe McDonough is sporting in the Cultural Clout issue this week. I'm happy to tell interested parties that it is no simple off-the-rack or thrift-store affair but rather a limited, American-made item from The Wurst Editions, the latest project from New Yorker Roy Dank. Wurst is actually better known in DJ and record collector circles for dancefloor exploding edits of disco and punk funk tunes—Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas, James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, and 2 Many DJs are known to play them out. Last year, Dank kicked off The Wurst Music Co, his music label. But by 2008, Dank was more sartorially obsessed—in particular, he was taken with the slim 60s button-down oxfords he found at yard. He launched the Wurst Editions, his menswear line, with that inspiration in mind—hence McDonough's oxford. Unfortunately, for you and me and aspiring stylish, disco-edit-loving admen, the oxfords are long gone, but Wurst still has a few of the second edition—The Wurst Edition No. 2, The Wurst Work Shirt in Indigo Chambray, going for $150 and limited to 45. We're not sure what Dank has coming next—but so far, he seems to have the clobber-obsessed dude right in his sights—and its a good thing.
