An interesting twist

In a recent In&Out column, a reader asked me about the effects of braces on blow jobs. Though I mentioned ways that she could modify oral sex, or lean on other sexual activities while clad in oral hardware, I also suggested Invisalign "braces" (which are more like retainers) because one can take them out for short periods of time - such as while performing oral sex.

One reader generously wrote to me to discuss her own experiences with Invisalign - she keeps hers in while performing oral sex. Here is her letter to me (bonus points that she used the term "hubby" which reminds me of the old school Newlywed Game show).

Hi Debby, I'm writing in to comment on the letter from the girl who was afraid she would no longer be able to give blow jobs if she got braces. I am currently wearing Invisalign braces, and they are just as smooth and gentle as your regular teeth, so you DON'T have to remove them to give head. You can only have them out up to 3 hours a day, so you basically remove them for all foods, and some drinks. They are so unobtrusive that my hubby can't even feel them when we're kissing or doing anything else in the bedroom. :) Thought you might want to pass that info on to her!

Plus, if she's worried about turning off guys, I will tell you that no one has been able to tell I'm even wearing braces, unless I have pointed it out to them and they look closely. On top of that, Invisaligns are less painful than traditional metal braces, and you usually don't have to wear them as long because they work quicker. She should go the Invisalign route! I love mine -- well, as much as you CAN love braces that is. Your column is the first thing I read when I get my Time Out Chicago!
