A book about Glessner House
By-tour-only Glessner House Museum—the Prairie Avenue historic house museum—gives you a reason to drop by for a quick half hour. In its cozy visitor center, it opened two small exhibits; one gives a preface on the Romanesque-revival architect H.H. Richardson, and the other explores architecture books owned by the Glessner family, who commissioned the fortress-like house and its beautiful garden. Both provide worthwhile (free!) information for passersby looking to duck in without committing to a tour.
