Nature Boardwalk

By Madeline Nusser

What was once a dilapidated man-made pond is now a thriving ecosystem viewable by Lincoln Park Zoo’s Nature Boardwalk. Thanks to a $12 million makeover—including the addition of endangered black-crowned night herons, bluegill, river birch and several other birds, fish and trees—we can experience a native habitat with the help of educated guides. However, we’re most excited to view the serene splendor via paddleboats set to debut next season.
