Today is 11.11.11

Whether you are observing Veteran's Day, Armistice Day, Nigel Tufnel day or the just plain palindromic perfection of 11.11.11 today (perhaps at 11am), there's a little something for you somewhere—perhaps involving a discounted mattress set or a Masonic ritual. I'll add more 11.11 stuff as it comes in. Feel free to add your own in the comments below.

Events

At 11:11am today, Amy Krause Rosenthal holds the fourth and final installment of The Beckoning of Lovely in Millennium Park.

Chicago honors its veterans in various ways, but fewer will be attending VFW hall events than you might expect. Membership in veteran's organizations is down.

Google Places will be at e.leaven Food Company (54 East Ontario St) today between 11am and 1pm. Places is buying lunch for everyone between 11am and 1pm or up to $1,500.00, which ever comes first. They will also be doing promo for Google Places.
