Your perfect weekend in late February

By Madeline Nusser

Friday, Feb 18

Dress as a famous artist or artwork (Marcel Duchamp’s Fountain would be our first choice) and boogie the night away at Ox-Bow’s Winter Benefit Art Auction and Dance Party (Architectural Artifacts, 4325 N Ravenswood Ave; 6:30–11:30pm; $100, after 9pm $25). The auction hawks works by former participants—now famous artists in their own right—of the School of the Art Institute’s artist retreat in Saugatuck, Michigan.

If you eat so fast you have to burp to find out what it tastes like, then enter Timothy O’Toole’s Wing Eating Challenge (Timothy O’Toole’s Pub Streeterville, 622 N Fairbanks Ct; 312-642-0700; 7pm, free). First person to eat eight extra spicy chicken wings is enrolled in the finals, and the overall champion wins VIP treatment at  Chicago’s WingFest. And here Mama said bad manners would never get you anywhere
in life.
