How it works Names are pulled from a hat between 7:30 and 7:45pm. Those chosen, 20 or so, are given five minutes to spin a yarn. An after-party follows at Rodan (1530 N Milwaukee Ave).
Why you should lend her your ear “It’s a dinner party without the dinner,” Brigandi says. “Everyone’s story is valid and should be heard. We’re not scoring or judging. This is also a great opportunity to share, network and meet singles.”

How it works Arrive at 8pm to add your name to the sign-in sheet, which is limited to five participants. Readers are given up to eight minutes to recite their fiction, nonfiction, published or unrehearsed materials.
Why you should lend her your ear “You never know what you’re going to get at this theater-meets-open-mic showcase,” Norris says. “Everyone from shy wallflowers to Moth Story Slam Champions has read here. One of the most memorable performances was a woman who read passages in a 1940s Southern accent, without dropping character.”
